This is one of my earliest songs - previously unpublished.

After graduating from Sydney University and in the two year period between writing 'Fill My House' and travelling 'overland' to England/Ireland, I wrote many songs. Most were not hymns, but related to life themes in general. 'Seasons of Life' was popular with friends at that time. It is a simple song with a rather melancholy feel (not unusual in my work). I recorded it in early 2019.

SEASONS OF LIFE
There are times you feel almost certain
That in love we could soar above the skies.
In the seasons of life it is Summer -
Season of hope and of love.

Then you find this hope disappearing
And the leaves of your lives fall away.
In the seasons of life it is Autumn -
You hold on but time will not stay.

There are times all shrouded in darkness
When there seems to be no way you can go.
In the seasons of life it is Winter -
You turn round and find you don't know.

Then like a dream all else is forgotten
In the joy you sometimes find with a friend.
In the seasons of life it is Spring then
Must there be Winter again?
