THE MAGNIFICAT (MARY'S SONG) -
One of my better known songs but perhaps in a version you've not heard before. The beautiful voices of Claire and Felicity Parkhill are heard on this recording of The Magnificat / Mary’s Song.

In fact, I originally wrote this song for Claire's singing. She first recorded it for my album, 'Turn It All Around' (Songs for Peace and Justice). That was in 1984, not long before the birth of her daughter Felicity.

Claire and I presented many concerts together. Her 'Magnificat' was always a highlight

Fifteen years later, she recorded the song again for my 'How Far to Bethlehem?' CD. This time, extra vocals were added by her now teenage daughter Felicity.

That is the version heard here. I especially like mother and daughter harmonising in the penultimate chorus - a lovely blend of voices.
