Dorothy Ann Soper Jeus said , thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind
Jesus said, love one another as I have loved you.
What a perfect time to show our love, with so much doubt and sadness around . We smile and greet passers by, spread Jesus love.
Have patience and consideration. We God's people lead the way.
Spread some hope to our fellow man.

NOTES: In 2020, I received a request from Ireland for the music of 'My Name Is Love'. The request came from Liam, who told me that the song is very popular with congregations in the Wexford Parish. I was naturally curious as to how the song came to be sung in Wexford. Liam kindly wrote back:

"You may not remember, but my mum directed a folk group in St Basil's Church, Basildon (England) for over 25 years. I was a young chap when you came over to the group to teach some of your songs, which remained in the group's repertoire thereafter. 'My Name Is Love' was just one of the songs you brought to St. Basil's. The songs travelled with Mum when my parents moved to Wexford”.

I do remember teaching those songs. In 1969 I had travelled to England, where I lived for the next ten years. In 1971, in a burst of creativity, I had written a batch of new rsongs. Nine of the songs were eventually published in 1978 (music book only) under the title 'Songs of the Lord's Travellers'. The songs in that book included 'Where Is Your Song, my Lord?', 'A King in Rags' and 'Martha and Mary'.

'My Name is Love' was not included. It had to wait thirty years before publication in my 'Islands of the Heart' CD and Music Book. But thanks to Liam and his Mum, I now know that, in the meantime, it was being sung at St. Basil's Church, Basildon and in the Wexford Parish, Ireland.

lyrics

MY NAME IS LOVE
My name is love and love is all I teach you.
Believe me I can reach you if you’ll only make my way.

It’s the frailest of all flowers
No more living than you are.
Close your eyes and the flower dies.
Call it love. Call it love.
It’s the greatest of all powers
Its strength could change the world.
Close your eyes, the power dies.
Call it love.

CHORUS:
My name is love and love is all I teach you.
Believe me I can reach you if you’ll only make my way.
My name is love and love is all I teach you.
Believe me I can reach you if you’ll only make my way.

It’s the softest sound I whisper
It is softer than the wind.
Very near, can you hear?
Call it love. Call it love.
It’s the loudest sound I sing you
My song could fill the world.
Very near, can you hear?
Call it love. CHORUS

It’s the simplest of all meanings
It is brighter than we are.
Sun of man, sun of God
Call it love. Call it love.
It’s the hardest of all journeys
My end was on the Cross.
Son of man, son of God
Call it love.

FINAL CHORUS:
My name is love and love is all I teach you.
Believe me I can reach you if you’ll only make my way.
My name is love and love is all I teach you
Believe me I can reach you if you’ll only make my way.
Make my way.
